So, I would really like to thank you for commenting on my recent post about my 'Whale of a Tale' quilt. It was so fun to create and sew. Thanks so much. Your mystery quilt has the best color combination I've seen. It turned out so beautiful.Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14423024947233260195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8080059478327635269.post-46021137088594511482021-05-13T21:28:42.792-07:002021-05-13T21:28:42.792-07:00Oh, I love your Wintersleep quilt. I made a sample using a wool batting in the middle and had the same result, the bearding. I'm still thinking of how to use it--maybe a layer of muslin on top and bottom and then sandwich it in a quilt; or maybe use it in a duvet cover.
I'm with you about mystery quilts. I like to know the end from the beginning. But it's a beautiful quilt.
I also like your red and white quilt in the hoop. The feathered circle looks perfect.
Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12136584654825212359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8080059478327635269.post-75316017263763620662021-01-23T15:26:53.857-08:002021-01-23T15:26:53.857-08:00Great job on the completed quilts! I would probably put a border on the mystery quilt just to make it mine. But then I hardly ever meet a quilt that I couldn't figure out a way to add a border! lol Love your sweet little tulip. I've been using wool batting lately, it is warmer and gives a softer cuddly quilt. I wash on a 'wool' setting and use cold water only. Here is my version: https://appliqueandpatches.blogspot.com/2021/01/making-circles-around-tulips.html
My friend used a wool batting in a quilt and hand quilted it and then gave it to her grandson. His mother washed the quilt and it turned out a mess. So, I won't be using wool batting.
Your quilts look so lovely all folded up.Rose Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13222914515169308269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8080059478327635269.post-5979792778946898592021-01-10T00:59:51.801-08:002021-01-10T00:59:51.801-08:00Pfff, dat is veel Quiltwerk geweest afgelopen jaar...Pfff, dat is veel Quiltwerk geweest afgelopen jaar.
